Bake Sale-December 5 & 6, 2009 Chairs: Heather Quinn and Martha Nasellii
Participation is parish wide, but it is expected that all school families bake and participate in this fundraiser. A successful Bake Sale depends on the great number of delicious goods made and purchased. Also needed are people to set-up the meeting room, help arrange the baked goods, cashier and clean up. This event starts Saturday morning (accepting baked goods and setting up) and runs through Sunday at noon.
Blood Drive - Oct, Feb, Jun - Chair: Jen Golembiewski
Volunteers are needed to assist LifeSource during the Sunday masses, and until about 2:00 p.m. Please check if available to help
Breakfast With Santa-December 6, 2009
Breakfast with Santa is offered to the Parish family after the 9:00 Mass. Breakfast is served to all whom attend, and the gym must be set-up and decorated on Saturday and cleaned up afterwards on Sunday.

This is an opportunity to teach children more about our faith. Classes are held in school classrooms
Volunteers are needed to watch and play with the young children while parents attend 9:00 and 10:30 Mass each Sunday
Athletics, Coaching and Scouts - Coaches are required to fill out an application and interview with the Athletic Board. Coaches will be assigned, this does not guarantee a coaching position.

Corporate Donations - Chairperson: Vicky Hoover
This program raises funds through rebates and recycling to purchase items from a "Wish List" developed by the faculty. The wish list excludes items covered in the school budget. Volunteers are needed to assist with our many corporate donation programs: Target's Take Charge of Education, Box Tops for Education, Printer Cartridges and Cell Phone Recycling, Restaurant Nights, Barnes & Noble Book Fair, etc.
A&R Easter Fannie May Candy Drive – March, 2010 - Chair: Peggy Benandi
Packets are distributed to children on kick-off day. Volunteers are needed to help organize candy in alphabetical order on delivery day, and also to assist with the candy distribution at pick up time.
Coordinator: Renee Dorsen. Each month the Altar & Rosary Society (along with an assigned grade) sponsors a lunch for our teachers. You can help by providing a side dish or dessert. Specific dates will be determined later. Please check the month you can help. You will be contacted by the Faculty Lunch Coordinator with specific menu instructions a week before.

The Holy Name Society is sponsoring its annual golf outing at the Glenview Golf Club. Volunteers are needed for golf tee-time reservations, dinner, set –up, dinner clean-up, and golf raffle. "Hole – sponsorships" are available for the golf outing. Please indicate where you would like to help.

Lunch Coordinators receive 10 service hours. All other positions are paid.
Traffic Safety Times - Coordinator Joyce Sopko
Parents are needed on a daily basis to work either a morning or afternoon shift. You can work the same shift all year or split with another parent. Duties include putting out signs/sawhorses and manning a crosswalk. $20 per shift.

A&R Parish Event – Pre-Lenten Dinner & Auction - February 12, 2010
This event is SMOW’s largest fundraiser consisting of dinner, silent and live auctions and raffles. It is a ladies only event held offsite.
Room parents assist with the monthly hot lunch program (about 1 hour each month), coordinating class lists and collecting for teacher gifts. They are also responsible for chaperoning field trips, and the end of year class picnic.

The SMOW School Advisory Council is now considering candidates for nomination to council positions. Please complete a nomination form if you are interested. Deadline for submitting applications is May 8. If you have any questions, please call Tony Connolly or contact any member of the Council.
In addition to council positions, there are opportunities for individuals to work on committees to share your expertise & skills.

This event is held offsite to benefit the O’Rourke Scholarship Fund. In addition, every other year, the event includes the installation of the newly elected Altar and Rosary Society officers. Volunteers are needed to organize the event.
