NONPUBLIC SCHOOL SAVINGS TO STATE

Nonpublic schools are an essential part of this state’s educational system.  In the 2005-06 school year, there were 1,220 registered nonpublic schools in Illinois and 257,194 students enrolled in them. 

Ø                  At the FY 07 foundation level of $5,334, nonpublic schools save the state of Illinois almost

$1.4 billion.
