Dear School Parents,

On behalf of the members of the St. Mary of the Wood’s Altar & Rosary Society and Holy Name Society, we welcome you to a new year of school and parish fundraising activities. The money raised by our efforts is a key component to balancing our school budget. The 2008-09 school budget includes $150,000 from fundraising activities. Any additional money raised is designated to the area of greatest need as decided by the Parish Finance Committee, School Advisory Council and the Altar & Rosary and Holy Name Societies.
 

St. Mary’s continues to grow in spirit and our children are taught early on that helping one another builds a sense of community while providing a brighter, friendlier atmosphere. Please take this opportunity to show your children just what community is and how it works by participating in an activity or event for their school and/or parish. Active participation allows you to share your time and talents and enjoy the companionship of other parishioners.
 

As you decide what committee you will help with this year, please keep in mind that each family is expected to contribute 10 hours of volunteer service. Attached you will find a sign up sheet for each of the school/parish fund-raising and service opportunities.  Next to each event is the number of service hours earned for each job.
 

Please return your forms to the school office or the rectory by the date below so that we may begin planning.
