Congratulations to Sabrina Bartolomei who made the St. Pat's Dance team.  She is the only freshmen to make the 2009-2010 squad,
as well as the second girl from Regina High School,  and
SMOW Alum (Angel Modesti class of 2006), and...the first
girl from SMOW Cheerleading.  Congratulations to the new Shamrock.
We are so proud of her.


We have several other cheerleaders trying out for their future high schools and we wish all of them
the best of luck also!!!!   We will keep you posted of our other successes.

"Join the Cheer"
 

The SMOW cheerleading program includes school students as well as active participants in St. Mary of the Woods CCD program.  We have two squads - JV (5th and 6th grade) and Varsity (7th and 8th grade).

We support the SMOW Knights Football team each weekend at Sunday afternoon games during the fall and we have recently joined the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) competitive cheerleading circuit during the months of January and February.

We encourage all girls to join our squad (as we do not hold try-outs) and we are pleased to see our program growing larger each year.  We also believe that girls should have the opportunity to participate in other sports and try to work with those programs to accommodate an active lifestyle of sport.

We believe in cheerleading as a sport and support the idea that girl athletes will learn teamwork, dedication and commitment as part of a cheerleading squad.
